Our Story
ELEVE Movement Studio is a space where young children can grow through movement, language, and imagination. Founded by Stephanie Mejias Kline—a bilingual dance educator, mom, and passionate believer in the power of movement, we believe that dance can shape confident and creative humans. At ELEVE we understand how powerful those early years are, and how much care, and artistry kids deserve in their learning spaces.
ELEVE, inspired by the ballet term élevé (“to rise”), was born from a desire to merge our founder's two lifelong passions: dance and storytelling. At ELEVE, we celebrate the beauty of bilingualism, the richness of multicultural stories, and the confidence that comes from expressive movement.
Opening our doors in Portage Park, a neighborhood deeply loved by our director, feels like coming home. This studio is a dream grounded in community, and we can’t wait to welcome your family into it.
Our Focus
Movement & Expression rooted in Classical Ballet
We introduce ballet through storytelling in age-appropriate and creative ways.
Confidence and Community Building
We create a space where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated. Our classes foster a sense of belonging, where friendships grow, voices are heard, and each dancer rises as part of a connected community.
Spanish Immersion
We believe movement is a language. Our bilingual and Spanish immersion classes introduce Spanish through songs and stories, helping children connect to music, and expression as they dance.
Sharing our Stories on Stage
At ELEVE, performance is more than a polished routine, it’s a celebration of growth, creativity, and courage. We guide children through the process of sharing their movement stories with confidence and pride, always honoring their individual pace and creativity. Whether it's a small in-studio showing or a big recital, our performances are thoughtful reflections of our dancers journey.
Artistry Development
We believe every child is an artist in motion. Our classes go beyond steps, nurturing creativity, expression, and a personal connection to movement. Through storytelling, music, and improvisation, we help young dancers develop their unique artistic voice from the very beginning.
